Beautiful photos @Arthur1960 Keiko is so Lovely ![]()
Great images. She’s made for modelling!
Cheers Fix, I’m determined to keep Keiko around, next year she will have been here 9 years and only recently swapped over to the SM148D bod she has here while her old WM145D has gone to her twin sis Kasumi. Interestingly she’s actually gained some height, a few inches, as the SM bod takes her to about 155cm. It looks very similar to the WM145D so she really doesn’t look too different aside from now having a more flexible skeleton. ![]()
Thanks, Keiko is one of my eldest gals and certainly one of my favourites, she may be showing her age a bit now but can still scrub up well for the camera! ![]()
The pictures show nothing of her age. She seems to be well cared for. ![]()
Thanks, she certainly is cared for, Keiko started out as a damaged head I got from a guy back in 2017 after he had got into trouble with some superglue and her makeup. So it was a useful learning experience to strip everything off her head and start again from scratch. That was probably when I really began to learn how to apply makeup without going over the top! Last year I used a little heat, applied with a small nozzle to smooth some of the ‘weathered’ patches she had accumulated over the years. It looks like it has stabilised the tpe, for now at least, although her skin isn’t as smooth as it was, then again neither is mine! TPE is a fickle material, I’ve got dolls that are now several years old that could practically pass as new then a couple of others that have arrived more recently that have developed issues that need attention. The biggest help in that regard has been 3M Primer 94, a godsend for tpe repairs! ![]()
This is good to know!! Thank you!
With that hair and makeup I definitely see a young Joyce DeWitt in Keiko. ![]()
Very classy.
Thanks, yeah I always seem to come back to this particular hair style for Keiko. I’ve tried her with different wigs but the short black bob with fringe is just her. ![]()
I agree. It fits her face so well.
nice photos Arthur1960
So Sweet. ![]()
Thanks! It’s Keiko that makes them nice, I just press the shutter release ![]()
Cheers Fix, Keiko remains a firm favourite. Funnily enough, these past 2 weeks I’ve spent more time shooting both her and Sophia, 2 of my oldest dolls, while my newer, cutting edge gals look on in disbelief ![]()
Speaking of cutting edge gals, we welcomed another lovely lady into our home 2 days ago in the shape of Cassie, a Starpery 171D with their Jiu Mei head. Cassie has spent the last 2 years up in Scotland but couldn’t face another winter there so accepted my invitation to move down to sunny Suffolk. She’s been exceptionally well cared for and arrived in pristine condition thanks to the splendid packing by a fellow doll enthusiast.
So, Cassie has a few firsts for me, the most obvious being she’s a hybrid tpe/silicone gal with weight reduction. So I would guess, a solid tpe doll with her dimensions would usually weigh somewhere between 45kg to 48kg but she actually felt lighter than my YL148’s when moving her about so a guesstimate would be around 33kg? She has the Evo skeleton that Starpery were using 2 years ago which includes ball joints on the wrists. The articulated fingers feel nice and firm as does her whole skeleton and her tpe is first rate. Her silicone head has implanted eye brows and lashes and she has easy pose eyes. The initial idea was for her bod to be used by my Fanreal Maria head as the skin tone match is good but Cassie has already impressed so we will have to come up with some kind of sharing deal. This is my first experience with a Starpery gal but colour me impressed, I’d certainly welcome another! ![]()
I tend to agree.
