With the rapid advancements made in the world of dolls we are blessed with an ever growing options list. Sometimes it’s unclear what some of these options entail, or even if they are worth it. From moving jaws to breathing features.
I’ve been wanting to talk more specifically about gel butts and if they are worth it to you.
I have both gel and non gel here at home but as usual, this is doll world we are talking about! Nothing is so straight forward! Which is MY personal favorite you might ask? Well, it’s… complicated.
You see, I’m a doll enthusiast and would like to think of myself as a doll photographer. Yes yes: (I’m going to take pics of my sexdoll and post them on the internet

As an enthusiast I would like my dolls to be all cuddly and soft everywhere. As a photographer I also want them to be as durable as possible. So here is the conundrum. Do I go for a gel butt that is soft, or a normal butt that is more durable?
Well, it really depends on how the manufacturing process actually is! Let me explain: Some manufacturers will incorporate the foam core into the butt in order to make them as light as possible, which can make them hard. Others will not do this making the butt as soft as well… the silicone.
You also have some manufacturers using soft foam cores while others use hard foam cores and everything becomes, once again, more complicated. While I understand why brands keep their manufacturing processes a close guarded secret, I also wish there was some more transparency.
So which is my personal favorite? I like a ‘‘no gel butt’’ option AS LONG AS there is no weight saving core that goes into it, even more so if the said core is a hard one. Otherwise I’ll take a gel one over a normal butt.
