SM Doll Review Series – 3 Bodies, 9 Heads, One Thread

SM Doll Mega Review – Introduction

Over the coming weeks and months, I will be taking a closer look at three different SM Doll bodies and nine different heads.

Bodies
156C
160D
168C
Heads
X1, X2, X8, 11, 60, 62, 116, 132, 136

Rather than rushing into a full review, I have decided to take my time and gain some real hands-on experience with the dolls first. This will allow me to provide more meaningful feedback regarding posing, handling, skeleton performance, silicone quality, and long-term durability.

My goal is to create an honest review that covers both the strengths and weaknesses of each body and head combination.

To get the thread started, I would like to share a selection of photographs featuring the 160D body combined with the X8 head.

The images include both a western-inspired photoshoot and a number of detail photographs. While the photoshoot is intended to showcase the overall appearance, body lines, and proportions of the 160D, the detail images provide a closer look at the sculpt, finish, hands, feet, skin texture, and other features that potential buyers may be interested in.

The detailed review, measurements, observations, and comparisons will follow later as I continue working with the dolls.

For now, I hope you enjoy the photographs.

Johnmagicnl, you have done very good work :camera_flash:

Next up is the 168C body paired with Head #11.

As with the 160D, I am still spending time with the doll before writing any detailed impressions. For now, I would simply like to share a short photo session to give a first look at the body and head combination.

More detailed observations and measurements will follow later in the thread.

Johnmagicnl, very good photos

Continuing the 160D review, this time paired with Head #116.

This combination creates a completely different look compared to the previous X8 shoot. Head #116 gives the 160D a much more modern and fashion-oriented appearance.

I experimented with several styles during this shoot, ranging from fully dressed fashion shots to more minimal body-focused images, to show the versatility of both the head and body combination.

Personally, I think this pairing works surprisingly well.

I’ve always been curious about how much a head can change the overall look of the same body.

For this comparison, I photographed the SM Doll 160D body with all nine heads from this review series. To keep the head as the only variable, the body, lighting, camera settings, pose, wig, and styling remained completely consistent throughout.

It is fascinating to see how each head brings out a completely different personality and atmosphere. Some appear younger and playful, while others feel more mature, elegant, or expressive. It really highlights the massive impact a sculpt has on the final image.

Hopefully, this side-by-side comparison helps anyone trying to choose the right head. Seeing the exact same body with different heads often tells you much more than separate promotional photos ever could.

I’d love to hear which head is your favorite and why!

After completing the same comparison with the 160D body, it was time to repeat the experiment using the 156C body.

The previous comparison featured all 9 heads on the 156C body with dark hair. This time, I wanted to see how much difference a simple change of hair color would make.

For this series, I used the same 156C body, the same 9 heads, and kept the lighting, camera settings, and styling as consistent as possible. The only significant change is the blonde wig.
