Hi and thanks, well the last time I counted I think I had about 40 full dolls and then about another 30+ heads that have to wait to use a bod. Dora is looking good in her present version, in the past she’s used a WM162F and a WM158G, the 158G did suit her well (same combo as the delightful Maddie) but the WM159C is a better skin tone match and is one of my newer bods and also looks good on Dora

Ha ha, yes more or less although I do have to keep a few rooms doll free as I share my home with my son although thankfully he doesn’t mind my dolls! It gets easier during the spring and summer as my girls can use the cabin and hang out by the bar but this time of year they have to squeeze into my little home studio area and, of course, the bedroom

Hi Fix, yeah, she’s definitely got a special something and speaking of special girls, this morning I found Keiko standing by the head shelf, no doubt thinking how lucky she is to never have to spend time there! But she looks lovely in her current outfit so I had to grab a few pics. Having been here for over 8 years now she’s rightly got a special place in my affection, bless her

Hi again, so to answer that question I’ll have to give a bit of history. I picked up Keiko’s WM85 head in early 2017 from a fellow collector who had run into problems trying to reglue her eye lashes so, for me, this was a good opportunity to try out my repair skills. I had to strip her head completely and clean off bits of super glue etc and then reapply her makeup. I was actually surprised at how good she looked after that and I then set about picking her a suitable body. The WM145D looked to be a good fit so I placed an order and the bod arrived that summer. Her head was slightly darker than the bod but it wasn’t that noticeable and so Keiko has kept that 145D right up to this August. Now a couple of years back I got another WM85 head with my WM159C bod (now used by Dora) and called her Kasumi. Earlier this year I looked for a new bod for her and found an SM148D going for a bargain price at a UK vendor as there was some damage (to the feet I think) which was an easy fix and so Kasumi then had her own bod but her head was a little lighter than the bod. It wasn’t until I was shooting them together in the garden that I realised that Keiko & Kasumi were better skin tone matches for each others bodies. As it happens the SM148D is quite similar to the WM145D, both her nice & curvy and both are taller than their stated heights. With head mine measures close to 155cm and the WM145D close to 150cm. Switching Keiko to the SM bod meant that she doesn’t really look very different aside from the fact that her head skin tone is now a much closer match to her bod. Of the two bods the SM is slightly heavier and has a little more detail but in any case I think it’s a good fit for head 85. So, in the first pic taken this summer Keiko still has the WM145D, the next pic has Kasumi still with the SM148D then in the third pic they are together, still with those bods….

And now here’s Keiko now with the SM148D and Kasumi with the WM145D, I forgot to say that obviously they are both tpe, the SM is still quite new while the WM145D is now over 8 years old and holding out really well. The skeleton is still quite tight after all these years so Kasumi can actually freestand, something I don’t encourage! I think it was last year that I had to do a little repair with heat to Keiko’s face which meant I had to clean off and reapply her makeup so she looks a little different in her more recent pics but she is clearly determined to keep in the game despite being one of my oldest gals! Sorry for the lengthy explanation but Keiko has had a bit of a journey since 2016 when I think she first left China!

Cheers Fix, yeah Keiko certainly has established a special place in my heart, probably due to her humble beginnings, in any case I’m glad she’s hanging in there after all this time!
