I mean some of the most strangely alluring women have a “disfigurement”; Dr Blight from Captain Planet, Dr Poison from Wonder Woman or the underrated character Miss Rosa Dartle from Dickens’ David Copperfield.
Maybe it’s a male instinct to protect something that is hurt or maybe it’s the beauty concept of the Japanese “Kintsugi”?
