She is quite lovely. My husband and I sleep in different rooms; we have for the past 4 years now.
I think that my fear of damaging Lawrence comes into play and also, even though he is a fabric/silicone hybrid, he is still a bit heavy. He has larger biceps and they are heavier than I thought. So when he wraps an arm around me and my arm is between his arm and his side, my arm tends to go numb after a while. On the other hand, if my arm is placed over his, it becomes uncomfortable after a while because it is higher than it would normally be if he were still only a fabric doll.
With his face being a printed decal, I worry about rubbing the ink off, causing damage to his face.
But I think these are only some of the issues that I have discovered so far.
Sleeping with lara and ivy i have the same problem. I think exitment plays a part in that. When i do her before sleeping i sleep pretty well if i dont it may keep me up or i sleep restless
For what it’s worth, I’ve noticed something similar with the upper arm positioning.
Something else you might try (if you’re either spoon, really, but in this case I’m thinking little spoon) is to have Lawrence’s hand resting on your thigh or something else where you aren’t contacting the arm with yours but you still have that comforting contact in general. If your arm is under his, maybe try lifting it up a bit so there’s contact but minimal pressure. Requires tight enough joints of course, and doesn’t really work well if you’re a restless sleeper.
Size difference and horizontal position might be a factor - either overall size or torso length (or both.) I’m 183cm and my doll’s 140cm, so to get in a comfortable position as the big spoon, her head needs to be tucked under my chin. This puts her butt right in the fold of my legs, which makes for good sleep.
With me as little spoon, the horizontal positioning seems to matter less - I’m happy as long as I’ve got breasts against my back, though the question of what to do with the arm comes up (see above.) It might be worth taking a look at how you sleep comfortably without the doll, and positioning him based on that.
Of course, with all of this, I feel like I’m probably telling you stuff you already know. I guess I’m at a loss as to what the issue is, and all I can do is keep suggesting things as they come to mind. ![]()
Thanks guys for the suggestions and feedback. I have had Lawrence’s hand on my thigh before and it is ok. It just doesn’t stay as he tends to roll back over on his back, LOL.
And of course the hand would probably pull the covers away - that’s a hilarious mental image ![]()
If it’s compatible with your sleeping position, you might try positioning the legs in such a way that it makes it harder to roll.
- Starting point would be like you’re laying on your back with your knees up - upper leg at a 45 degree-ish angle up, lower leg 45-ish degrees down.
- Roll to the side.
- Move the legs slightly away from the side that’s contacting the bed in the desired position. Move them at the hip first, then rotate the knee for desired contact with the bed
- The idea is to have the doll sort of leaning or “rolling” toward the knees - the weight + position of the legs/knees should make it difficult to roll him onto his back.
Unfortunately it’s kind of hard for me to describe, and I don’t have a picture of it handy (which is weird, because I thought I did…)

When we have patients sedated for colonoscopies, we position them pretty much like this so that they stay in the Left Lateral Decubitus position.
The only difference is we make the lower leg straight. It really helps keep them where they should be when they can’t help themselves.
Ms. Sportello (Almost called you DG!), hopefully that position will help you out. Anon4231 has it pretty spot on.
Mrs. Sportello, if your arm is going numb, it could be from compression of your brachial plexus. On patients, we usually place an axillary roll.

Well, he is not articulated. He does not have a poseable skeleton, so I cannot bend him, but thank you.
I will try that. Thanks!
I have no trouble sleeping with Blizzard (one of my two chocolate elves.) Very heavenly having her in the bed with me.
That’s great!
I don’t like sleeping with anybody, real or synthetic! Unless it’s a California King and my own cooling foam pad and light sheet. Too hot! Arms Akimbo! Also I hate being told about garlic breath. ![]()
I miss my California King bed…
