Awaiting doll, ordered just before Lunar new year - what is a realistic wait?!

Hi there everyone.

As the title mentions, I did order a doll about a month before the Chinese/lunar new year, and I still have not received images of my completed doll!!

The details:

Yes, it’s been a long time since my last doll purchase, in fact about 6 whole years! A few of you may know about my long standing quest to fine a new [silicone] light-weight doll that I can now manage, due to older age, failing ability etc etc. Well I finally made a decision!

It was not an easy task and there were a few very close 2nd place choices!

Now, because I want to do a proper introduction again, I have decided to keep the doll brand/vendor etc under wraps for now, until I have had a chance to do some photography and an initial review of her. It also gives my vendor [and the doll company] some time to sort out my doll production, in case there is a genuine reason for the long delay.

So, to all of you who may have ordered any doll around that time of the year, what could be sensibly viewed as a reasonable time to wait? My doll was apparently at the ‘finishing touches applied’ stage on the 14the Feb, so what has happened with her over the last few weeks since the new year celebrations were officially over?!! :worried:

The doll makers website states my particular model production time is typically between 14 to 21 days. So this should surely have been completed by now, and I should have received images/videos?!

Any insight would be helpful please.

Whoa, that is a long time. Did they send you info via email? Can you reply to one and ask what’s taking them so long?

Hi, I gave my vendor a ‘nudge’ about a month ago, they said they would try to get an update from the factory. None came back, so I sent another reminder nearly 2 weeks ago; the vendor replied again, saying that they would chase up the factory yet another time.

Still waiting…….

This is a big player in the doll making world, by the way, not a brand started relatively recently. They have been in the business for over 10 years! I’m still very worried.

I understand. I hope they get back to you with good news soon. We’re not talking 10 bucks here.

Hi up,
such a long wait is rather unusual. If the doll was in the last stages before Chinese New Year she should be on the way by now. You should at least have received a tracking code. Doll companies usually try to push out ready dolls before CNY to reduce backlog.

It might be difficult to get a handle on the vendor or manufacturer but keep trying. If you paid by PayPal you might want to file a case. Don’t go public with manufacturer and vendor unless you don’t get any proper response or the vendor is uncooperative.

Good luck and maybe the doll is already on her way and only communication was going wrong.
