Clever work @Podium_Teas.
I definitely would not have thought of either of those trick. Your results are very good.
Your mirror photo looks perfect to me. I guess it is similar to the guy who paints the dinning room. Everyone sees perfection, but he only sees all the little flaws.
@DollCommander , Leah does not have a thread yet. I have dropped a few of her photos about the forum. I will talk to her about starting her very own thread.
I love the ingenuity photographers put in to getting the shots they want, and as Doll photographers we have the added work of posing the doll and getting them to be where we want them to be. which can often be 10 time harder than setting up the actual shot.
Love everything in this thread.!
How can you tell you’re in a doll owners house but cant see any dolls? Easy the rooms are either empty or have very easy to move furniture
Heres a snap of todays “Adventures in rearranging a room to get a photo”. This room is lovingly called “The Studio”. I have minimal furniture in there, and a large sofa bed, so It can act as many things including a guest room. Most of my pics are created in here.
I wanted a ‘Bed by the Window’ feel so the sofa bed got moved, the air mattress got inflated and shoved on to raise the height, and a body pillow covers the radiator.
Add Miss Lazy Boobs…Add stupid bear to fill the dead space with “something” (in this case a large amount of bear)
The window light covers most of it, but the globe flash topped things up. The Gold reflector bounced just a nice glow back to her to soften the shadows.
If we didn’t have dolls from this point forward, we could have a furniture moving company! Haha
Yes. Our main room is large. Minimal furniture and all easy to move. When we bought this house that room was 5 rooms. First thing we did was knock down walls!
We didn’t have dolls then but it sure has worked well for them!
Thank you for sharing your set up. It means a lot to see what you do.
Of course not everyone has a Maddie for inspiration but we sure can enjoy yours!
2x Godox ad100 pros with one amber gel in two SMDV speedboxes, 1x Godox ad200 pro as hard light with a pink gel. I use a little Godox Litemons as a continuous light to help the auto focus.
I use a Sony A7 iii with a Sigma 24-70 F2.8 Art lens.
The stand is something I welded myself that I find super useful. I edit it out in post processing.
