Thought I’d start a little thread for Casey, one of my TopFire girls.
She’s got such a warm and expressive face — perfect for portraits and a lot of fun to photograph. I like trying different lighting moods and themed setups, so you’ll probably see her in quite a few different looks over time.
From what I’ve been able to uncover about B&W is, That it’s all about lighting and texture. I think if you keep those two things in mind your B&W’s should come out nicely.
I completely agree with you, lighting and texture are key in B&W. I also have the feeling that with black and white you can go for stronger contrasts — the light doesn’t always need to be that soft. It feels that a bit of edge gives it more character.
