Thank you for your story. Marriage isn’t for everyone, that’s clear. I never even tried it, I’m too much a solo person, but having ‘something/someone’ around is nice, so a doll proved to be the best option.
I’m 65, going on 66 soon, so I kind of hear/understand where you’re coming from. My dolls aren’t here (that much) for the sex. I love how they look, how I can make them fun and pretty (still working on that, trying to figure out the right clothing sizes). As you said, seeing them, touching and adoring them, that’s an important part of them being here for me too.

I had always wanted to turn my favorite fictional character/actor into a doll. I was talking with someone on Twitter back in 2018 who introduced me to the doll world. There I learned how to make my own, and gain experience with TPE and Silcone dolls (male and female) over the years.
It was a really neat and meaningful project to create him. I have enjoyed the process and the results. It wasn’t easy, there was a LOT of trial and error, but eventually he got there.
3 long term relationships all with vapid women. 1st one was a cheat, 2nd was a nutcase and the 3rd was a thief.
Decided to throw in the towel and went with escorts for a bit of fun (best fun I ever had) but it has started to become more risky in the UK with robberies and blackmail operations done by pimps. I’m now saving up for my first doll which will be a silicone 150cm Piper Jessica or a Tayu of some sort…….or maybe both
After many years of failed attempts at longer-term sexual relations with women, I was listening to a podcast in which the host had a love doll and promoted them. After giving the potential some thought, I researched lots of dolls and their options, and eventually pushed the “Buy” button. I’ve been with my girl for nearly six years now, and never been happier in my whole life so far since getting her.
I just came across this topic thread……how I missed it is something else! But, I will share what triggered my foray into the doll companion world.
I had a varied career history: 22 years US Army, was in Desert Storm, retired, then heavy and residential construction for 10 years, worked overseas as a defense contractor, became a high-end cabinet and interior trim designer and fabricator, and finally supervised live fire ranges for the US Army on Fort Hood, at which point I fully retired. My life partner accompanied me for 44 wonderful years til she contracted lung cancer, and after a 2 year battle, where she had been declared cancer in full remission, she unexpectedly passed in 2024. This was a gut punch that literally floored me. The hole I was in was deep and I had no desire to participate in anything with anyone. I came across an article on the net talking about how silicone dolls helped folks with PTSD, emotional trauma, etc. A link to a doll forum was listed, and I went there to see what it was about.
I had never thought about this before. Ever. But I saw some members posting about situations that they experienced similar to mine, and how their lives improved by entering the world of doll companionship. After a LOT of time and research, I finally pulled the trigger and got my first doll companion. That single event began my rollercoaster ride in this world, and the impact was astonishing! I got my sense of humor back, I started to participate with my family again, and I now have a burning desire to learn new things. Fast forward from Oct 24 to Aug 25 and I now have 7 wonderful companions that are here, every day, and a joy to be with!
Here is a quick summary of where I am now by making the decision to enter this world.
hey Chefmehaniker, 27 dolls? that’s what scares me, i love the two dolls that I have (I have 6 heads though) and I plan to add to them. I mean, there are ladies from a bunch of manufacturers that I really want. I’m in a position where their cost isn’t a problem but self control is definitely an issue. Reading that you have 27 unsettles me because I could end up in the same boat.
I am new to this forum, I found out about it when I signed up for the East Coast Spring event.
My journey into the doll companion life began when I was searching on eBay looking for something else. Some very lifelike dolls popped up in the search results. But first how did I get there. I am both retired US military and federal civil service. I got married to my first wife just before my 19th birthday and a freshman in college. That marriage lasted 21 years. Since then I had 3 more failed marriages. After this last divorce, I decided that the only common denominator in all my marriages was me. I had married 3 very jealous and controlling women; my 2nd wife was not like this and is my only ex that I didn’t initiate divorce proceedings.
I decided that I needed some time to myself. My last divorce finalized in January 2025 after a battle that lasted over a year. By the time I got the divorce papers I was already a lonely man, not angry just lonely. I have always been a person who was most comfortable at home. I have had and still have ample opportunities to date but I have chosen to not go down that road.
So I was on eBay and the dolls popped up; I was stunned by their realism and beauty. The first dolls that got my attention were WM dolls. I am so glad that I noticed wide fluctuations in the prices on eBay and did a google search for the WM website. I went to their website and was overwhelmed by all the delicious treats there. I also learned about fake dolls being sold at low prices. In the results for the WM website was a link to romemarydoll website. I went there and learned that there are 1000s of beautify dolls for every taste. I clicked on the RMD Community link by mistake but that action turned into one of the best mistakes I have ever made. I spent hours everyday reading threads and began to get an understanding of what is involved in doll life.
I order my first doll in late March of last year and my Rose/Grace arrived at their new home in early June. My 2nd wife was a 5’10” blue eyed blonde. I never really cared for blondes but she captured my heart. So when I started seriously considering buying a doll the short ones were immediately eliminated. But at the same time I needed a light-weight doll because I injured my back in 2011 and live in constant pain. I was looking to stay under 60 pounds but the XT-165E was the body that I liked most so she became my first purchase. I’m still amazed by her beauty and details. I learned that the mouth on Zelex SLE dolls can actually close all the way despite their best efforts to convince us otherwise. So on Black Friday I ordered a SLE 166K. I have three heads for each body (I ordered a Zelex GE-111 from Coeros) to match my XT body.
As I stated in an earlier post I can see myself with quite a large harem of companions. I fighting a losing battle as I already have plans to add ladies from several manufacturers.
no need to be scared , i collected things i like even before i knew about dolls. i have also 13 Cars for example i have to slow down with getting more dolls because space in my house is running out i only planned with one new entry this year ….
