I've got a new Normon 170 doll, and I'm here to tell you all about it

Those of you familiar with my activities here and at the other place probably already get this, but I’m probably a little different in what I’m looking for out of one of these dolls than the average.

Let’s just say I focus more on the visual aspect of these Factory Girls than the, uhhh, tactile.

But it’s more than that, because what I do is photography to tell a story, and a whole lot of it. So my demands on a doll are probably tougher than those of a regular doll owner who’s really just there to jump her bones for a little while every now and then. My dolls have to perform. And look good doing it.

So earlier this year as I was looking around for something to fill out my collection, which consisted of a pair of Zelex 170’s and a Doll’s Castle 170 TPE model that I’d picked up cheap, I noticed the Normon 170.

It intrigued me, because the other three dolls are skinny/athletic bodies. I wanted a full-figured girl to go with them, and of all the ones out there the Normon 170 looked like the most realistic. I loved the fact that this model has a thick waist to go with its curves; so many manufacturers think a full-figured doll simply has giant hips and huge boobs and otherwise they can use the same basic mold.

No, fellas. That looks stupid.

Anyway, there was a lot of buzz about the Normon 170, and then that other place blackballed Normon and that was that. Except I still wanted a full-figured addition to the Oscar collection, so in April I did some research, talked to a few posters here who had one and got some very complimentary reviews, and then called my guy Jeff who’s basically my doll guru (many of you know who he is, but I can’t outright name him because it’ll get him in trouble at that other place) and asked him if he could get me a good deal on one.

And he did.

It took right at two months for the doll to get here, but yesterday FedEx dropped her off.

A tip: if the delivery guy asks what’s in the box, what you tell him is “exercise equipment.” You aren’t lying.

So here are your obligatory packaging pics…

They did a good job packing her, and it looked like FedEx did a good job handling that box. The only thing I got a little freaked out about was that the neck was a little bent when I opened the box up, but once I’d straightened it out everything was normal.

With that as your introduction, now we’ll go on to the review.

So here were the specs for this doll…

Norman 170 ( silicone)

Head material: Silicone
Eye color: 6 (blue)
Eye veins: Yes
Wig: #4
Implanted hair: No
Skin tone: Natural (or whatever conforms to Light Tan)
Pubic hair: Shaved
Hand bones; With skeleton
Soft buttocks: With implant
Vagina suction: No
Bikini line: Without
Breasts type: Extra soft (gel implants)
Built in vagina
Areola color: Light brown
Labia color: Light brown
Soft Thighs: No
Stand feet: Yes (no bolts, hard feet)

The first thing you’ll notice about the Normon 170 is that, for a girl who looks like she’s on the heavy side of MILF-ness, she’s actually very light.

Seriously, she’s amazingly light. Normon claims their 170 checks in at 35 kilograms, and yeah. In fact, despite this doll being the same height and considerably thicker than either of my Zelex 170’s (the 170 Inspiration is actually a few pounds heavier than the non-Inspiration model) and the Dolls Castle 170 (that goddamned thing is a back-breaker to try to carry around), this is the lightest doll in the arsenal here.

I call it a miracle of silicone engineering.

So you’d say “yeah, Oscar, but if she’s that light she’s got to feel like she’s made of wood.” And intuitively I would agree, but no. In all of the places you want her to be soft, she’s soft. I don’t know how they managed to make the doll as light as it is, but Normon pretty much puts those other manufacturers to shame on weight reduction.

The other thing you notice almost immediately is that these guys know how to do hands and feet.

One big difference between the Normon 170 and the Zelex 170 is that the Normon 170’s fingers are considerably shorter and fatter than the Zelex model. That’s not a bad thing; in fact, these are more realistic (the Zelex 170 has long, spidery fingers) and more to the point they’re a lot sturdier. The silicone on these hands is a good bit harder, and it feels like the articulated bones are thicker.

They absolutely look like real hands. And while a regular size 6 or 7 ring might fall off a Zelex 170 finger, it’ll fit snugly with this model.

An interesting wrinkle here: this doll didn’t come with fingernails or toenails. The silicone is molded to look like she has them, but they aren’t painted. I actually like that, because it makes room for putting some commercial fake nails on her, and that’s a project I’ll take on in the coming days.

And now, the feet…

One negative is that the seam where the harder silicone begins at the ankle is really noticeable on this doll. It’s less so when the foot is in a pointed-toe position, but it really stands out in a regular position…

Hey, it is what it is.

On the other hand, we have this…

Yep. They’re wired. You can make her curl her toes, which is awesome. And it’s a thick wire in there. You have to apply a little pressure to get it to give. They did it right.

Also, it’s a good, hard foot. I think it’s going to hold up a little better than the boltless standing feet on the Zelex 170, though it’s way too early to say for sure.

My only complaint about the hands and feet is the visible seam on the ankle. You don’t really notice the seam on the wrist at all.

Before we move on to the next bit, I know you guys are going to ask about this, so see the LHP for yourself…

Yes, she’s got a lot of junk in that trunk. And the skin is very, very realistic. Almost so much so that it’s unattractive. We’ll get to that next.

Right, onto the skin.

It’s very realistic skin. It’s chick-on-the-way-to-menopause skin.

Here’s what I mean…

See that creasing at the hip when she sits down? I know some old broads who have that. It’s not a defect, strictly speaking.

Here it is again…

Again, it is what it is.

As noted above, I ordered this doll in “natural,” which I hoped would be sort of a light tan. They don’t offer a light tan skin tone. “Natural” is a little yellow-y, though it’s not unrealistic. Healthy humans will, in fact, look like this from time to time.

One thing that was something of a disappointment was that I couldn’t put Amber’s head on this doll. Here’s what that looked like…

The skin color doesn’t really match up, but that isn’t the real problem.

The real problem is that the neck bolt on the Normon 170 is rifled such that you can’t use a M16 connector down in it. It won’t work that way. You’ve got to have the screw side of the bolt down in there and then use the snap-to connector on the head rather than the neck. Seeing as how Amber’s head has a bolt that’s screw-glued in with the snap-to connector pointing down, I can’t fully seat that head on the Normon 170 body.

So she’ll look like a giraffe, and I won’t really be able to move that head on that neck.

In other words, using heads from other manufacturers on this body is a little dicey. Lots of manufacturers will now weld the bolt to the bottom of the head, and that just doesn’t work with this one.

I’m not blaming Normon for that, it’s just a downside where the bolt is pre-fastened to the head.

As for the joints, so far so good.

These are good, firm joints. They’re tight. Not so much that you can’t bend her when you need to, but you get a lot of resistance.

Of course, the tale is never told on joints until weeks or months later, so we’ll see how long it takes before they loosen.

Next up, the Julie head.

I went in a different direction than some other Normon owners I’ve seen here and elsewhere and got the Julie head. Out of the box, it looks like this…

Pretty, right?

When I saw that head at Normon’s website, it struck me that it looked a little like a Liv Tyler face, though not as long…

But that’s not really what we have here. It’s a little different.

In fact, I’d almost say she looks like…

Not exactly, OK, but…

What I’m noticing about this head is that the AI apps love it. How about these smiles?

Of course, if you saw Amber’s latest story where Ashley - which is what I’m calling this doll - made her debut, you know what I can do with her as a blonde.

Anyway, that’s what I’ve got. You’re never going to get a perfect doll in all respects and there are a couple of imperfections with this one, but all in all?

This is a damn good doll.

This is one of the best on the market. And it’s not at the top end of the price scale, either.

I love the hands and feet, I love the joints and maneuverability, it’s a great sculpt and the skin is great. Time will tell if it holds up, but on a first impression this thing is a fantastic addition to the collection here. Normon deserves a thumbs-up for this one, so I’m happy to supply it.
