After a very cold “night” at the North Cape we slept well and the next morning we took of, southward bound (small joke, nothing is further north anymore for us) slowly making our way home - give or take two and a half weeks
Morning coffee at the caravan with Mariko is fun. Maybe I can take some photos when we make coffee together.
We are out and about and driving through the North of Norway.
They have some pretty beautiful scenic routes and one of them led us to Havøysund. That’s practically the end of the world. Roads end here, so we had to take the same road back. Beautiful scenery and overwhelmingly beautiful nature. And in the end we needed a spot for the night to rest. With a caravan that’s not a big issue and a place is easily found…
On the way from one spot to the other we had to take a ferry. Something completely normal in Norway. You stand in a queue, wait until the ferry arrives and board it. Aboard the ferry it’s a good time to get some expensive but good coffee, have a break and then when you arrive you are fit for the next part of the journey.
But this time the name of the area was written on the harbour and it was a perfect spot for Mariko. On one side the ferry queue, on the other side a parking lot for a supermarket and nobody even bat an eye.
The journey continues to Senja. In the morning I visited the hill overlooking Tromsø with the cable car and hat stunning views. Mariko stayed in the car as I have no wheelchair for move her around. Maybe next time.
Back at the campground I hooked up the caravan and off we were through a wonderful scenery - sea, snowy hills and bumpy roads You know I like them. At the ferry we had to wait for two and a half hours and needed to kill some time.
Today we did a roundtrip on Senja. At least part of it, the island is too big to drive around in one day and way too scenic too. We started off at the beach, but no bikini, no bathing because this is still the arctic sea and although it’s summer the cold water from your tap is likely warmer.
Another one from our trip through Senja.
This time on Bergsbotn a magnificent platform and viewpoint. All the tourist guides recommend it, so there were quite a few people.
Haha, It’s not surprising that people ask if Mariko can talk. She’s so realistic she very well could (in future renditions!)
