Hello everyone!
I’ve always liked looking at unboxing posts in the past so I thought it was only fair that I took the time to do my own for others’ enjoyment, or if I can help but just one person make an informed decision then it’s all worth it to me.
Welcome to what is my Tayu 148D unboxing experience!
DISCLAIMER:
Before I start I’d like to state that this is my first silicone doll. This is the reason that the title reads ‘‘experience’’ and not ‘‘review’’, as I don’t really have any other silicone dolls to compare her to.
BACKSTORY TIME!
At the beginning of 2022 I started to get interested in dolls. As I was browsing through various vendors I saw an ‘‘in stock’’ mini 110cm doll. I was… uhh… tipsy at the time and just hit the order button. It was very much an impulse buy, and the doll arrived a few days later. It didn’t take me long to realize that I wanted something more, something bigger, something with more of a human presence.
I decided to look into full sized dolls. I still wasn’t convinced that doll life was for me so wanted to test the waters with something affordable. I found this ‘‘entry level’’ doll that we all know. As they stock them in warehouses all around the world I knew I’d get one in a matter of days. This brings me to what I consider was my first doll life experience. The first few minutes of unboxing that doll I knew I was hooked. This allowed me to learn more about maneuverability, maintenance, and what I’d really want in my next doll. This also allowed me to take my time to do the proper research, as I already had a doll at home.
Here I went down the endless rabbit hole of the doll world. Price vs looks vs height vs weight vs versus VERSUS!! Weighing in all the pros and cons of different brands and their offerings can and will make your head spin. ‘‘You spin me round round baby right round. Like a record baby, round round right round’’ If you have that song in your head now, good lol. Anyways, I was down to two dolls for the longest time. Durability was a big concern for me. It was when Mishka reassured me on his NaiMei thread that Tayu is built for sex first and foremost that I knew this doll was soon going to be mine.

From the label created to arrival at my doorstep the travel time from China to Europe took 46 days. I think it has something to do with the sad war going on in Ukraine.
The box arrived standing up (of course it did) but was completely unscathed!
My heart started beating faster as I just hoped the doll would look as good as the box. Luckily TAYU packages their dolls fairly well. Our delivery guys here in Europe seem to take care of packages way better than you guys in the US. So that’s a plus.
There isn’t much in the way of accessories but who needs another crappy hole warmer that’ll go straight in the bin. The lingerie is a nice touch, although a bit too big for the 148. The silicone test piece is great, and will use it to test bleedthrough.
It looks like the box was checked by customs because the stitching has been tampered with. Looks like they didn’t want to check out those boobs lol. But she’ll definitely need a good clean.
The doll looks like she made it home unscathed, thank god! Let’s start analyzing her.
The hands look like they have some slight pokes. I don’t know if this happened during transit, or at the factory, or even if this is normal. I have to say though, the articulated fingers are something else! They just feel super robust and with care, should last a long time. The word ‘’quality’’ comes to mind.
The head is super soft, super cute. The eyes are easy to move with just a slight push inward. You can tell she will be very photogenic.
Why I went with the rectangular head connector? Honestly I don’t really know lol. I guess I just wanted to try something new. I can tell you this, the head doesn’t wobble in the slightest. The neck moves with the head which is very cool.
I went with the bolted standing feet. Looks like I should have cleaned them first lol, for that I apologize. The bolts look a tad wider than what is the usual so we’ll see how much they like to destroy shoes and stockings. I chose bolts because I want to be able to store her standing without any worries.
The toenails are silicone. At first I didn’t know why it was a $100 option, but looking at the fingers I now know that the nails protrude from the silicone like they do with real skin. Super realistic. I have some toenails from amazon that I’ll glue on with Permatex. (Thanks Crazedcat, if you’re reading this I totally stole that idea from you haha)
When TAYU pour the silicone in the mold the hands are positioned this way.
When you turn the hands in a more natural position you get a twisting in the silicone as you can see in this picture. I think that’s where one criticism can be made. I’m aware that some people mentioned the hands look too big for the arms and I think this is the reason why.
I got the extra blue veins as an option and while they are feint, for me it was very much worth it. They will, however, not likely show up very much in any pictures you take.
THE ASS! The ultra-soft option was $250. I can understand why TAYU separated it as it is SUPER soft. There might be a chance of deformation if you store her laying down or in a sitting position too long. I’ve had her laying on it on a memory foam mattress for two nights now with no problems at all. I am putting it to the test and will report back if anything happens.
Here you can see the vagina spread. I know a lot of people absolutely want to see this, so here it is. I’ve spread the legs pretty much 90 degrees each without any worries that I may cause straining to the silicone. I can tell TAYU had this in mind when designing the body. Fantastic. The vagina spread is there but to me, at least, it looks minimal.
Conclusion:
This is one hell of a fantastic doll. Where to start. The skin is textured, and after powdering it just feels wonderful. It also doesn’t look shiny when light reflects off of it.
The skeleton is great, not too stiff, the range of motion is ace. Moving and positioning her is done with ease. I just want to keep moving her and trying new positions lol.
I tried rubbing off one of the blue veins and it just wouldn’t rub off. It would if I tried hard enough but this paint is there to last.
This doll is LIGHT! Moving her around is done with ease. Feeling around the body she’s soft where you’d expect and hard where you’d want muscles and bones to be. I’m not entirely sure how they did this. Maybe the use of both hard and soft cores.
Just the ONE thing I’d want different is the arms feel a little on the hard side. That is all.
Everything on this doll screams quality to me. Everything feels soft yet robust. I have no doubt in my mind that durability was on TAYUs minds when designing their dolls.
I’d recommend this brand to anyone looking for a good quality doll. The problem is, once you get a TAYU any other brand you get may very well be a disappointment. I will get other brands of course, so time will tell.
I hope my unboxing experience has helped someone, or at least has provided some entertainment. I will probably update every six months or if something comes up.
Thanks for reading.
Okay, one last picture because I LOVE those legs!!!
Update 26th Jan 2023
UPDATE:
This morning as I was uncovering my precious new doll to see an indent had appeared on her left calf.
I don’t know what caused this as I’ve been incredibly gentle with her.
It looks like a compression mark but I know that I haven’t put any pressure on that area of the body at all.
Could this be an imperfection in the silicone? An air bubble?
Does this thing happen sometimes with silicone?
Is this possibly related to an imperfection in the foam core and the silicone is sinking in to fill a void?
Can I inject some Permatex in the area to ‘‘fix’’ this indent?!?
If some of you members like @Mishka1965 that are more knowledgeable and a whole lot more experienced than I am could provide some input, I’d be so very grateful!
More show up next day:
And the next:
This is where I started contacting Alice and TAYU
30th Jan 2023
UPDATE:
Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys.
I somehow wish I had gone directly to Alice from MRD instead of posting here as I have a feeling that I’m now somehow painting TAYU in a bad light. This was never my intention.
Let me say this. Alice and I had a back and forth through e-mail and I provided her with all the info I had. She’s such a great gal that genuinely cares for her customers. The customer service from MyRobotDoll is second to none. They also have an excellent relationship with TAYU themselves. Over the weekend in the span of 24 or so hours, MRD got my info, sent it to TAYU, and TAYU replied. And MRD sent me a parcel tracking number ON SUNDAY. You won’t find better customer service elsewhere. This is the benchmark that any vendor could only strive to achieve.
The fact that TAYU had their guys look at the pics, for what must have been a late Sunday for them, during their holiday speaks volumes to me. They also care about their product and customer satisfaction.
I can’t help but feel that I’m in good hands with both the vendor and the manufacturer. These things are incredibly important in this industry.
That is all that I want to say on this matter.
To conclude: This is such a great doll, I do not regret my purchase. Like Crazedcat mentioned somewhere, that if my home burned down with my doll in it I would order the same doll again as soon as possible (although this time with the toenail upgrade haha).

UPDATE:
I’m in a predicament.
What I wanted, first and foremost, was to share my unboxing experience and love for this doll.
When the first indent appeared I just wanted to ask if anyone had this experience before. As this is my first silicone gal I didn’t know if this may have been a regular occurrence with this material. I maybe should have gone directly to MRD, but didn’t want to bother Alice during the weekend with what may have been a non-issue.
I guess it kind of spiraled out of control lol. There must be quite some interest with this brand as both myself and Alice have been asked questions with concerns about their orders. Asking me about what the issues really are/ were, and what TAYU is doing about it.
What I could do is ask the mods to go back and delete some of the posts and pictures to try and mitigate what this could be called bad publicity (which would be understandable as TAYU pays to be on here after all), or to keep everything up and say exactly what happened. I’ve always thought of myself of someone with integrity and telling the truth is part of it, and I’ve been given their blessing to choose which path to go. Therefor I’m choosing full transparency, fully being aware that more may see this going in the future. Also part of this transparency, I’m hoping that this information could help people with these ‘‘issues’’ in the future (and for all silicone brands).
I’d like to state that since the last picture I uploaded I haven’t gotten any new indents, and I have been using the doll as I normally do.
After sending the information to TAYU with details how these marks appeared they have concluded that these indents were not compression marks, which is what they look like, but rather some air bubbles that have left air pockets in the silicone. This is why they have appeared with little movement and also why they haven’t showed up until after I started moving the doll around. TAYU will make overly sure to eliminate bubbles in the silicone during the molding process moving forward.
I’ve been sent a TAYU repair kit from MRD with the same 2 part silicone my doll is made of, and I’ll need to get myself a syringe and thick needle. TAYU will create a tutorial for me on how to fix these indents when the team comes back from their Chinese New Year.
I hope I haven’t dissuaded too many people from ordering this doll or this brand because she really is one hell of a doll. I also hope I’ve put some minds at ease.
Also, if you guys are on the fence about ordering the soft butt JUST DO IT. It’s a worthy upgrade. I’ve been storing her in bed at night (with a memory foam mattress mind you) and have had ZERO deformations or flattening. The paint is holding up strong. The skeleton is a pleasure to move. She’s soft where she needs to be. I’m looking forward to my future with my Eva and taking plenty of pictures!
Present Day:
TAYU sent me a custom made video on how to repair the dimples and MRD sent me some TAYU 2 part silicone to repair the doll.
Since then I have made many doll owner friends and have spoken to Mishka on several occasions concerning this issue. His TAYU 161F has the same softer silicone blend than the 148D that I have and has spoken with his dissatisfaction about the newer softer blend to TAYU, as he had been getting the same issues.
I have since had another TAYU doll, this time the 158D when she first came out. I’m happy to inform that after having had her for months with multiple shoots and outfits that I haven’t had any issues with the new doll whatsoever. I’m not exactly sure what TAYU have done, maybe revert back to the older blend, but they seemed to have listened to customer feedback.
I cannot believe it has been a year since I received my Eva. Man has A LOT happened since then to me concerning the world of dolls. I’m looking forward to seeing what 2024 has in store, not only for me, but for everyone that is part of this growing community.
Love you all! ![]()
