Normon 163F Lena Unboxing (14 Nov 2023)

So, I’m a total newbie to dolls. I’ve got my “cheap girl,” the eBay special, but I wanted to get a quality doll and damn - the difference is wild.

I was actually browsing around looking for a doll, and came across the 163F Lena on some website somewhere. Damn good promotional pictures - I was captivated. Unfortunately, I’d never heard of Normon, so I kept browsing - I assumed it was just another trash vendor.

A couple of days later, I’m browsing around and saw that some people had actually gotten them and liked them!

I visited their website, and indeed. same pictures I’d seen previously. Realistically, I shouldn’t have semi-impulse bought. I think I don’t care though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Executive Summary

Pros:

  • Looks amazing
  • Soft breasts (and they hang nicely in doggy)
  • Measurements on point
  • Easy to move considering weight
  • Moveable eyes

Cons:

  • Paint is not durable
  • 4kg off spec, only “extra” option was gel breasts
  • No instruction manual (quick connect gave me fits trying to get it to work because I’d never encountered one before)

Neutral:

  • LHP is usable but weird looking (doesn’t bother me, but I know this bothers some people)
  • I’m still not entirely sure how I’m getting the insert in - guess I need to develop a fisting fetish
  • Preferred eye color wasn’t available but the ones I got look very nice

Ordering Experience

I bought the doll direct from Normon - they were doing a bunch of early adopter promotions on their dolls which meant a pretty good price for silicone.

Communication with Lisa/Emma (I think they’re the same person) was quick within the constraints of China business hours. Her English isn’t all that great, but we worked things out all the same. Took about a day overall to hash out the order. Payment was via Paypal - I covered the Paypal fees, which was unexpected but I’m not particularly salty about it considering the deal I ended up with overall. I also covered the shipping, which I fully expected.

Factory pictures were received about two weeks later:

And hey, she was almost perfect! Only issue I had was with the eyes, which I’d requested green for. Problem is, Normon’s only “green” eyes are apparently more of a jade green than a brilliant green. After a bit of back and forth, I decided to just stick with the brilliant blue - to their credit though, they were willing to make the change for me if I wanted.

Options and Measurements

Options:

  • Natural Skin
  • Green Eyes
  • Wig #9
  • Light Brown Areola, 3cm
  • Removeable Vagina
  • Light Brown Vagina
  • Pink Fingernails/Toenails
  • Hard Standing Feet without bolts
  • Implanted Eyebrows/Eyelashes
  • Soft Gel Breasts
  • Reduced Weight
  • Paid options: Soft Body Skin, Articulated Fingers

Measurements per vendor:

  • Chest: 85/33.46in
  • Waist: 55cm/21.65in
  • Hip: 93cm/36.61in
  • Cup size: F

Measurements as measured:

  • Chest: 33in
  • Waist: 21in
  • Hips: 36in
  • Underbust: 24.5in
  • Bra size: 9 inches difference - 24I US, 24G UK, 32DD/E using sister sizing
  • Feet: 9in length, 3in width, US Women’s size 6 medium.

Mostly not too far off, really - I’d say an inch is well within the margin of error considering I’m far from practiced at measurement (and it’s telling that all my measurements are off by about the same amount…)

Cup sizing is a disaster as always. I wonder if manufacturers are using “underbust +4” for cup sizing though, because that would make the cup size line up in this case. For what it’s worth, “underbust +0” worked perfectly for my cheap doll though.

Shipping and Unboxing

Shipping was via UPS, and took 8 days to get to me in the US midwest. There was three days of limbo where a label was created but no other info was entered. One day from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, 2 days to Anchorage in Alaska, another day to Louisville in Kentucky (UPS’s international hub, as far as I know,) a day for customs there, and another day to get to me. All in all, pretty fast.

The box looked like hell, big shock, but everything was intact:

Coming from a cheap TPE doll, I was struck by two things - first, the breasts are amazingly soft. Second, she was a LOT easier to move - it seemed like they did a really good job with the weight reduction. Listed weight was 26kg, and I expected another 2kg from the gel breasts. For comparison, my TPE doll’s 25kg, give or take. I’ll cover this later.

Some detail shots

So, after unwrapping her, I took some shots of all the good bits:

I’m actually rather surprised at the detail. As noted above, the breasts are super soft compared to my TPE doll. So squishy and wonderful. The hard silicone head is HARD. I was expecting it to be stiff, but it feels like the shit we used to seal antennas onto humvees with. With that said, the detail is beautiful.

These are the accessories she came with. Bonus points for adding a hanging eye bolt, not-bonus points for sending two of the same outfit, lol.

The hairbrush is a nice touch, even though I already had one. I ordered her with an insert, the pink thing seen above.

I will say, I am NOT a fan of the quick connect so far. Leaves her head feeling wobbly, and I spent something like 20 minutes trying to get the damn thing into the head. Eventually I asked, and it turns out I was trying to put it in backwards - I guess the quick connect side goes into the body, and not the head.

Negative points to Normon for not including any sort of instruction manual, IMO.

And finally, here she is, all put together! The wig’s the one that came with her - I’ll likely swap it out with one of the ones I already have at some point, but we’ll see.

The post you’ve all been waiting for - LHP

Alright, so I took some shots of her to show off the LHP:

Establishing shot. This seems to me like a reasonable and safe (for the doll) position to do doggy.

Bonus points to Normon for the breasts actually hanging a bit in doggy. They don’t really flatten out much when she’s on her back, but it shows the softness off better than any hand grabbing the breast. All manufacturers/vendors should be taking a shot like this (and another with her on her back) for all their dolls.

3/4ths angle. Just to prove there’s no fuckery going on.

Actual LHP. Proper anatomy notwithstanding, it seems decent enough to me - straight shot into either hole from behind based on my probing.

Final Thoughts

Weight

I mentioned that I’d cover the weight, and how this doll felt lighter than my 25kg doll despite a listed weight of 26kg and a probable weight more in the 28kg range. Well, I got her onto the scale, and…

:japanese_ogre:

For those of you unfamiliar with pounds, that’s 30.27kg! That’s… significantly more than I expected, considering the options I got.

The silicone apparently makes a REALLY big difference in handling, more so than I expected. Despite being bigger and heavier, she’s a lot easier to move around so far.

Softness

Keeping in mind that I don’t have the context of a silicone doll from a more well-known brand, she seems squishy with hardness underneath because of the weight reduction. I expected this, and I don’t think I mind it - but most of her is definitely more “hard” than expected. The breasts are amazing, as I said, but the rest of her is kind of a stiff sort of squishy. I think the only place this really matters to me is on the tummy, which I’d like to be softer. Alas though, weight reduction.

Painting

So the realistic body painting looks great, except…

… well fuck. I haven’t even had her out of the box for a full 3 hours yet. Minus points for Normon there. I assume it’s where her arm rubbed against the body while I was shifting her around for the previous pictures, but I’d expect the paint job to be a little more durable than that.

Sculpt

Someone else mentioned that the legs seemed thin, and I finally see what they were saying - but it’s the lower legs that looked thin. Not something that really comes through in the promo pics, but it’s like her calves are a bit too small for the rest of her leg. Not really a huge issue, and it’s something I can see in the pictures now that I’m looking for it. Considering this one neutral, since I did get what I saw.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m pleased with what I got. I’ll have to figure out how to repair where the body paint is rubbing off, but other than that, I think she’ll make a pleasant bed companion.

A Three Week Retrospective (3 Dec 2023)

Alright, so I’ve had her for three weeks, and now I’ve got a better sense of the good and the bad.

Overall verdict: See the shirt (the shirt makes me giggle).

The good

She’s quite attractive, and I’ve found a number of wigs that seem to work nicely for her. I’ve definitely settled on redhead wigs for her, I think - it seems to fit the rest of her appearance the best. Long hair also seems to go better with her look than short hair - I need a couple of bob-style wigs to try though.

The body sculpt is excellent, complaints about LHP notwithstanding. Other than the issue inherent to almost all dolls I’ve seen - the too-small underbust - she actually feels pretty realistic, and is quite pleasant to look at.

The moveable eyes (spring-loaded is the key term here, I think?) are great for taking photos. Moving the eyes around really lets you tweak the look.

Just in general, she’s an incredible photo model. The hard silicone face is extremely detailed, and looks great when photographed.

I think all the “good” points boil down to, she looks really really good.

The bad

I’ll split this one into two parts:
Things inherent to the doll that are my fault, in the sense that I didn’t know any better or they’re things I just don’t like.
Things inherent to the doll that are Normon’s fault, in that they’re quality control issues.

My fault - or “things I didn’t know I didn’t know”

The skin is sticky and won’t hold powder worth a damn. I gave her a bath, dried her, and rubbed her down with talc - which promptly stuck everywhere but on the skin. A few hours later, her skin was tacky again. I’m not sure whether this is an inherent property of silicone or what - my understanding is that it’d at least hold some powder for a while. To contrast, by the way, I haven’t powdered my TPE girl for a month, and she’s still relatively non-sticky despite being my bed partner for the whole time.

Speaking of bed partners - the weight reduction really does NOT make for a good bed buddy. Some of y’all may have heard me say “oh, it’ll make her feel realistic, like she has muscles underneath, etc. etc.” - lol I was wrong. I mean, I was technically right in that it does make her feel a lot more realistic, but no matter what position I use to sleep with her, she’s just incredibly uncomfortable. Basically, she has muscles, but she never relaxes them. I gave it a try for three days of very poor sleep, and swapped back to Luna. Kind of adjacent to this, the hard silicone head is definitely not sleep-with-able either.

The realistic face just kind of creeps me out? This is definitely a “me” problem, but it’s something that doesn’t come across in pictures - she looks so realistic that the lack of other cues a real human would have (overall movement, blinking, etc.) makes being in her presence super weird to me. Really, this one is “praising with faint damn” - she’s so realistic that she hits that “uncanny valley” thing hard for me :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Normon’s fault - issues with quality control, etc.

The paint continues to come off. Again, as per the photo in the initial unboxing, it lasted for a whole three hours before getting damaged, and three hours is when I discovered it. It’s still mostly around “rub” points where clothing touches or things touch it - knees, elbows, waist, fingers - but I still expected it to last a little bit longer than “right out of the box”.

The wall between anal orifice and vaginal orifice is very thin. Thin enough that I put a hole in it the first time I tried to use it. This may be something inherent to having a removable vag, but strikes me as something that should be solved one way or another. For the record, I am neither big nor vigorous, and I used plenty of lube - this is 100% an engineering or build quality problem.

It didn’t click as a problem at first, but the joints are really inconsistently tightened. The knee joints are both loose enough that keeping her standing (even with support) is an adventure. By contrast, the hip joints are so tight that any attempt to move them is likely to move the knees instead. Her shoulders have a similar problem - the “shrug” movement is loose, whereas the rotation/extension is tight. Attempts to tilt the arm up/down will move the shoulders half the time if I’m not careful or holding the joint in place.

Any attempt to move her while standing is an adventure too - the knees are loose enough that you can’t really pose any part of her body while she’s standing without her wanting to collapse, because all the other joints are way stiffer than the knees. I did manage to get her posed a few times, but I strongly suspect that her knee joints will only get looser with time.

It’s interesting to note that Normon messaged me after I posted this picture, saying not to bend her knees like that - the loose knee joints were the only reason I was able to get her in that position with no stress in the first place. :stuck_out_tongue:

Final thoughts

Would I buy a Normon again? eh, maybe in theory if i wanted another silicone doll? I think all the issues I pinned on Normon are things that can be fixed. Extra care could be taken with the joints, they can fix the thin anal-vaginal wall when/if they fix the LHP, and I almost feel like they forgot the topcoat on the body paint since nobody else seems to be complaining about it beyond the normal complaints about vaginal paint coming off with use.

The problem is that this all seems to be a lack of attention to detail, which I’d worry about on any subsequent purchase. Would I want to risk it? I’m not sure on that. There’s a lot of other silicone dolls at a similar price point that are made by manufacturers with more established reputation.

Great review, anon4231! I especially like how you divided your review into the original findings and a revisit after almost a month’s time. Very thorough. Thanks!

It sucks that she has a few issues. However she looks well done body and face. I think she is really sexy and cute. The LH looks fun and exciting. I think you have a great first doll and once you bond, you will love her forever. It will be fun as you grow your collection and learn new things. Nice work on the review. Really good stuff and great honesty. Thanks buddy   :metal: :metal:

Unfortunately I can’t use the holes 'til I fix 'em - blew out the wall between the anus and vagina (it’s an insert,) and the insert broke while I was washing it.

She’s already the secondary doll to the cheap girl (which was actually my first) - TPE’s just much nicer feel-wise overall.

Great review! Yes, that hard silicon is like kissing a tire, usually. Love the “boob hang” in Doggy Style.

Follow-Up - a year and a half (and a little more) later.

Since I’ve been talking about her on the Discord periodically, I might as well provide some closure here.

I took a couple of pictures after posting my three-week re-review. I’ll put a sample here - she really was a beautiful doll.

Unfortunately, I also found that doll photography is way too much work for my tastes, and she only spent about 4 or 5 total days in bed with me.

What happened to her?

She collected dust (though not too well - dust wouldn't stick to her skin either) until someone who had a lot of silicone dolls expressed an interest in her. I sent her off to him for the cost of shipping.

What was good to hear, however, was insight into the silicone. I’ve expressly avoided silicone dolls due to my experience with the Normon, but I may actually be willing to try again with a different manufacturer.

A reminder from my original follow-up:

And now a quote (paraphrased for anonymity in case the writing style is recognizable) from the person I sent her to:

The skin’s bad. I washed her with Dawn soap, and it didn’t help. As you said, powder won’t stick to the body. I think it could be a bad pour, and in general it’s a bad product. The crease points won’t come out even after massaging the silicone. The body looks good, but I don’t think I’d buy a new one. Now I understand why you wanted to throw it away - the head’s the only part that’s worth keeping.

So there you have it, that’s not “things I didn’t know I didn’t know,” that was just another quality control issue.

I’m going to close this out by noting that there’s a lot of people who are apparently happy with their Normon dolls, and I just didn’t know enough about dolls at the time to request a replacement. Keep in mind that this was one of their early dolls - hopefully they’ve fixed any issues now.

Chances are, if I’d been able to articulate the issues with the doll at the time and point out why they weren’t up to typical silicone standards, I’d have been able to get a replacement doll. As it stands though, she was a $2100 mistake that I got a couple of good pictures out of. :stuck_out_tongue:
