Having attended the East Coast Doll Meet in South Carolina back in October 2025, I can tell you firsthand that these events are absolute magic. I had a total blast! It was simply amazing—the incredible people you meet, the stories you get to share, and the life-long friends you make are things you just can’t duplicate online.
We’ve all seen the awesome photos and recap threads from these various meet-ups happening across the US and Europe. But let’s be real for a second—as much as many of us would love to join in, traveling internationally with our companions is a massive undertaking. Between the nail-biting anxiety of airport security, customs paperwork, and the absolute dread of checking a heavy cargo case on an international flight, it can turn a relaxing vacation into a logistical nightmare.
So, I have a proposition for the Love Doll Network community: Why should the US and Europe get all the fun? It’s time to plan a premium, homegrown Canadian Love Doll Meet-Up for 2027!
The vision is an intimate, relaxed retreat for a group of around 6 to 10 of us to get together, unwind, share photography tips, and give our companions some of the most stunning backdrops the world has to offer. To make travel as painless as possible for everyone from coast to coast, I’m eyeing two spectacular, easy-to-access regions close to major airline hubs.
Here are the two options on the table. Which one gets your camera trigger-finger itching?
Option 1: The Eastern Retreat – Muskoka & Haliburton Highlands, Ontario
If you want a vibe that is purely classic, serene Canadian wilderness, this is it. Located just a smooth two-hour drive north of Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ), it’s incredibly easy to reach via direct flights from almost any regional airport in Canada.
- The Scenery: Think glassy, mist-shrouded lakes at sunrise, iconic windswept white pines, and dramatic granite rock faces. If we choose an autumn timeline, the fall foliage here is world-class. It’s an absolute dreamscape for moody, soft-lit portrait photography and stunning outdoor shoots.
- The Tourist & Stay Draws: We’d be looking at renting a massive, high-end private lakeside estate or luxury log chalet compound. We’re talking private docks, hot tubs, gourmet kitchens, and total semi-privacy. We can hang out, review our photos on the big screen, and let our dolls lounge by the water without worrying about hotel crowds or nosy onlookers.
Option 2: The Western Escape – Canmore & Kananaskis Country, Alberta
For those who want epic, jaw-dropping scale, the Canadian Rockies are calling. Situated just an hour west of Calgary International Airport (YYC), this location offers world-famous mountain vistas with a much more relaxed, semi-private atmosphere than neighboring Banff.
- The Scenery: Towering, snow-capped jagged peaks, brilliant turquoise glacial rivers, and deep alpine forests. The lighting in the valleys here is pure magic, offering sharp contrast and majestic backgrounds that will make your doll photography look like a high-fashion editorial.
- The Tourist & Stay Draws: Canmore is a gorgeous mountain town filled with incredible local dining, craft breweries, and boutique shops. For lodging, we’d target a premium, residential-style mountain chalet or luxury lodge clubhouse with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the mountain ranges, cozy fireplaces, and plenty of space for indoor and outdoor staging.
