RE:Introducing Agnès

Okay friends and doll lovers. Since this is THE new doll forum, I will repeat my doll experience in this thread, starting with the first photos I ever took of a doll up until now.
However, my comments will reflect my current perspective on the photos and my path into the doll community.
Even if some of you already know these photos and are put off by the poor quality (in every respect), I would still be happy if you would hold on and at least read through my new views and background information on the respective photos.

THIS THREAD WILL NOT BE CONTINUED IF THE CURRENT PICTURES DO NOT GET AT LEAST 10 LIKES!
(I’m just kidding! Nevertheless, I would be very happy to hear your opinions, whether positive or negative, but preferably constructive!)

Okay, let’s start with my very first doll photos ever:

These photos were taken after I had been scouring doll forums for a year to collect information and then finally found the courage or was drunk enough to order my first doll. WM 160A #398

As you can easily see, I had no idea about dolls, apart from all the things you should pay attention to in order to avoid damaging your doll. This has meant that to this day my dolls have not had any finger pokes or other injuries.

The wig is brand new but it looks like it’s 6 months old without any care. The poses are really bad, as are the shooting angles and everything else.

Nevertheless, this “photoshoot” was one of the most exciting I’ve ever had. Everything, really everything was new! And when the first reactions and comments came in, I was simply overwhelmed. There were actually people who liked my doll who encouraged me to post more of her. The helpful criticism was expressed, all in all I immediately felt at home and more than encouraged to take new photos.

Fun fact: the skirt that was way too big belonged to my ex-girlfriend :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey Niro, we are so happy to see you documenting your doll journey here. We will also be posting many of our early photos to present. I don’t think anyone ever gets tired of looking at your beautiful girls. :two_hearts::two_hearts:

Thank you:) But unlike your pictures, this journey will be rather rocky and bumpy :stuck_out_tongue: I hope the “behind the scenes” perspective still makes it exciting to follow this journey.

It took me a while until I found this forum to be really useful. I thought the idea was great from the start, but I honestly didn’t think that David versus Goliath would really work. Well, to err is human.

That’s why from now on, apart from simple heart emoijis, I will also really respond to comments!

I’ll start with you. THANKS! The fact that someone like you, who is a milestone in the doll community and also a very talented photographer, takes note of me and talks to me is more than I could ever have hoped for at the beginning of my journey.

Thank you! To this day I still don’t understand the “out of the box” thing. AH uses similar expressions to my photos.

Of course, every praise goes down like oil and I am very grateful for that. But tips to improve my photos would help me a lot more.

That’s why I’m saying here repeatedly and seriously that constructive criticism is probably the best way to help me.

(Oh rest assured, I can handle a few hits - just please not all at the same time^^)

Love the honesty, Nirodha. Happy to give you input, as long as you critique me in return!

I’d like to point out that everyone of us was a Dolly beginner at some point.
As such we all went through the initial fumbling to varying degrees.
Those with previous photography experience obviously had a leg up in that
department and minimized that learning curve.
From what I’ve seen of your photos Nero, apart from the initial beginner stuff.
You have progressed to near elite status in a short time.
The photos of your girls are extremely alluring!
I’ve fallen in love with all of them through your images!
There’s literally nothing I could add in the way of criticism! I love your work.
:beers:

I think this is a neat idea, to post your pics from the beginning and to write up your experiences. I can’t offer any critique or advice about photography but I do like to see your girls. I’m looking forwards to following here.

Hehe!

Your first photo shoot came out better than mine! I was so excited by the realism that I didn’t pay much attention to the quality of the final pictures. Even with photography experience!

Only thing I can say from these early shots of Agnés is that she too has grown a lot, just like your artistry.

Personally…I fell in love with Agnes the moment you brought her into the forum… Her sweet innocent look is well represented in the way you capture her…Since then, you have continued to grow and evolve along with your girls…
Thanks so much for sharing!

Now the biggest challenge presented to us all is trying to keep up with all the forums… Ugh! i know I’m missing somebody…

Thank you shakemaker:) But there is nothing that I could criticize about your photos. Your use of sunlight is fantastic, as are the poses. Take fantastic photos!

Thank you very much JimPink! I hate to look back at those old pics. They started the thread you know. And most people don’t take the time to go deeper into the thread ewhen the first pics are awful.

 thank you

Thank you Killperry! Great to have you here! :love_you_gesture:

The first reactions to Agnès’ new thread were overwhelming for me. And I wanted more of it.

This was the wig I actually ordered for her. Because I wanted her to look something like the promo pictures (gym) and more like Leatherman’s Stevie…

But then it turned out that I liked her much better with the blonde wig and that it gave her her own personality.

For me, brown eyes and blonde hair are the most beautiful combination there is for women!

These pictures were taken in the first week and by then her make-up had almost completely disappeared.

Which was certainly due to the fact that I actually had no idea what I was actually doing.

This will get very interesting. Reading again about your journey into doll live plus your thought from today. :+1:
And of course a lot of Agnès and the others.

Thank you Tsall:)
Come to think of it, wouldn’t it be better if I started a new thread called “RE:Intoducing Agnès”

If I dig up everything here now, it will be difficult to upload current pictures here and I’m sure that not everyone will be interested in Agnès’ career.

The question for you is: Would it be possible to put the last posts I made about the past into a separate thread with the title mentioned above?
