Recommend a Big Book of Poses

Howdy all,

Admittedly, I am terrible at posing dolls. Partly my extreme lack of skill. Partly because I’m a bit lazy too, and don’t have great patience. But, I am thinking of making a little more effort, rather than my standard ‘stand up straight’ or ‘sleep in a bed’ photos. Especially when I take a doll on holiday.

Q: Does anyone recommend a posing book?

I can Google “big book of poses” and find loads of books, but no idea if it’s a good book or not (especially regards posing dolls.)

Maybe a good idea for a talented doll photographer, write a book, “1000 Poses for Photographing Love Dolls - The Essential Photography Guide for Doll Lovers”. Or perhaps someone has already done something like this?

Cheers,

Hunt the Shunt

PS If no one can help/recommend, I might pick up this book because I like the cover  (yes, I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover):

I take my inspiration from what I see on the internet and some of my own imagination so I have no reference book. However I was lucky a friend has a copy of that book you showed. It has a wealth of inspiration and I wanted to order one. Unfortunately it was not available in Germany. So inthe end I can recommend your choice  :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Poppy. If you recommend it, it’s a must buy :+1:.

I was looking for a physical book because there are times I don’t want to look at the internet. For my holidays, I like an internet detox :clinking_beer_mugs:.

BTW They still have 5 left here (after I bought one). They are pre-owned books advertised as condition = Very Good:
500 Poses For Photographing Women By Michelle Perkins
Amazon is more expensive.
