Seeking SM owner feedback: Material differences, 136A knowledge
Hello, I’m new here at LDN this week, but have been in the doll world for over a year now, so here’s a little about me: I have had another brand’s doll for the past year while I recovered from a spinal injury and surgery. It made an OK bed companion but was really bad, for me at least, to use for fun times. It had, IMO, really bad LHP which made things really uncomfortable. It had delaminating issues, and finally one of the shoulders locked up and won’t go back down. That was it for me, so I researched dolls I find attractive that also have well regarded LHP. That’s how I came across SM. I recently acquired both an SM 156A and 156C, both reduced cost flawed bodies (flat butts), which I am enjoying in the ways that I can currently (Both dolls were damaged in shipping, appearing to both be dropped HARD on the end of the box where the feet are, and I was sent the wrong 156A. I ordered with X8 head and received the #4, which honestly is really cute too). I worked out a resolution to the issues that I am happy with and am awaiting a new body for the 156A, which had a widely split open foot and a love hole area the tore open just by opening the legs to repair the foot. The love hole tear looked different than any I had ever seen, it had a strange repeating, almost zig-zag, pattern. None the less, it’s not really suitable to be used for sexy times without some TLC modifications, which I don’t have time for in the near future.
Looking into it further, I’ve found that the silicone tearing on the 156A is a known issue, finding some of the member’s here and other places accounts of the issue. Learning that is a bummer for me as my previous doll (also full silicone), for all it’s problems, had zero issue with love hole durability and still looks pristine even after tons of use. It actually didn’t occur to me a love hole could tear so easy. With that in mind, I’m leaning towards just not using the new body for sex and keeping it for display and photos, while I use the damaged one for a sleep/cuddle buddy.
I have the 156C, and it is actually really good for sex. The problem with it is it is heavier than it was listed as and it’s too much for me to constantly have to move around and clean. I’m happy with it, and it’s gorgeous, but it’s going to be an occasional use thing due to the weight.
So that leads me to the purpose of this post; I’m looking to get a 136A, and I want to use it for fun times. I’m hoping I can learn from the trailblazers here, about what I need to be looking for when it comes to materials and options so I can have as close to the experience with it as I am hoping to!
=============================================================
My preference is Silicone for both aesthetic and sanitary reasons, but I would only want to go with a 136A in silicone under a few circumstances that I don’t yet have the information on.
1.) Does the 136A have the same gaping issue the 156A has.
2.) It is available without weight reduced, as I believe the weight reduced options also interfere with durability. Is it available without weight reduction?
3.) The hole openings can be ordered to preferred size. I found a post on TDF where Star states:
“As for the problem of the doll’s vagina, first of all, because the model is relatively thin, her vagina will be less elastic. And because the elasticity of silicone baby (baby??? something lost in translation maybe???) is relatively small, so if the vaginal hole is not big enough, it is easy to be split. According to your suggestion, we will note the size of the vaginal opening required by the customer when placing an order in the future, so as to avoid the damage caused by the hole being too small.”
Does anyone have feedback on silicone gaping, and has anyone actually ordered a customized hole size?
When it comes to TPE & STPE, I don’t know where to start. I’ve never owned either of them as reading about maintenance on them seemed too much for me. It may end up though, that if I want to use the doll for sex, it may be the best option to avoid major damage. I’ve gotten feedback from a few owners, one had experience with the TPE, the other with STPE, but not both to compare them. Does anyone have experience with both SM’s TPE and STPE? How do they differ? Is there ANY smell on either? Pros/Con’s?
I have seen reports that the Silicone and TPE versions of the 136A actually have a noticeable variance in size, is that always the case?
What else should I know about the 136A or any of the materials? For the owners, what do you wish you knew before you ordered yours that you learned later?
Even if you have not had the 136A, I would love to hear about your experiences between all the materials! I’m really looking forward to gaining the knowledge of the members here!
