Thanks Fix, I dunno if I was taking “awesome” pics at this point lol, but I sure was having awesome fun!
2021 didn’t see much opportunity for taking pics, but I did get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet with the legendary StormiLover (RIP). I was a big fan of his entertaining stories and was blessed to get Sephonia featured in one of the adventures. Some of these were taken by SL, and others by me with my new (at the time) iPhone.
So 2022 was the year where things started to kick off for me, some semblance of normality returned to life and I bought myself a good camera, the Sony 7III Alpha.
I was yet to get flash gear and needed some experience to learn the camera, despite this I think there was an instant improvement towards the quality of my pics. The following were taken with only overhead pot lights and a desk lamp for lighting
Thanks There was much trial and error to start figuring things out
Thanks JD! Yeah I’ve kinda got an eye for what I want to see, the hard part is translating that into a camera image
It wasn’t long before I added flash gear to the mix, starting off with 2x Godox AD 200 Pros. I got my camera settings a little more dialled in and I was loving the big leap of improvement in my photos. This next pic was just a quick n dirty pose to test out the flashes and figure out how to work with them.
Happy to see she lives again with her essence intact. Man, who would have thought dolls would turn us into photographers one day? Still a long way for me (gotta stop using auto asap) but going places, just like you.
Shoot… I’ve neglected to update this story for awhile, my bad
@Dominico Yeah photography was not on my mind at all when I first bought her! It sure is a journey with these lovely dolls and I’m glad to have found another artistic outlet for my creativity.
That perfect blend of Seph in her prime and my photo game stepping up a notch
While I still had (have) much to learn, at this point I was much better able to translate my vision into a decent quality image. I remember I was pleased as pink with these pics for what the new gear was able to produce for me compared to the struggle sessions with the crappy first equipment. Like, you go from knowing what you want to see and just not really being able to materialize it… to being able to see your visions come to life, it’s exciting!
