So what is the term we call our dolls

I have been a lurker in the doll community as a whole but since the pandemic I have joined various communities and even follow brands on rednote ( Chinese social media)

I have noticed the following terms used

Doll

Sex doll

Love doll

Robot wife

Synthetic companion

Airplane cup ( one of the terms for minis)

And of course in china it’s funny when the say BJD for the love dolls it seems to cause some heat.

So let me ask our little community at a whole what do we call our dolls as a whole.

I normally use the term love doll personally .

For me it switches between doll, love doll or their names. “Synthetic companion” is quite a lot to say, although it fits.

I’ve used: doll, love doll, sex doll, lover, life-sized action figure, mannequin with benefits. Mostly love doll. Or as @quillurion said, just their name - like: Gracie Bardot, Neytiri, Miss K, Aniyah, Storm … :blush:

Can’t remember the last time I referred to them as dolls. I just say “my girls” or use their name. They are so much a part of my life now that doll just seems inadequate. It does help that all my friends and the little family I have all know about them

I often call them my girls or my ladies too.

Usually I call them love dolls and sometimes sex dolls.

my girls are my girls , or ladies, i also call them friends, compangnions and models.

i never call them sexdolls or toys , it´s about respect.

I always refer to them as my Girls, or occasionally, my Ladies
