Dealing with the cold

It’s getting colder. I can tell this very clearly when I go to sleep with the 2 girls, Isabella and Roisin. They are very cold and that’s no fun. (I sleep naked, as do they - of course.)

I plan on getting an electric top blanket and make things a bit comfy before turning in.

Are others in such a habit, situation or chilly environment as well? If so, how do you deal with the cold? Maybe there are easier ways to go about this.

Well, I gotta say that I am gun shy BIG TIME about using an electric blanket to warm my gals, though I have read quite a few success stories of other’s using them without any problems. My current solution to that problem has been this. (this applies to my gal Tami, WM 156 H STPE fully loose skeleton who is my prime cuddler bed buddy)

  1. She usually wears a top of some kind, cotton, polyester or spandex.
  2. She also wears crotchless nude panty hose, and satin panties.
  3. I also do put on nylon/spandex seamless nude opera length gloves on her, mainly to try to minimize damage or stains to her arms and hands. Sometimes even latex opera length gloves as well.
  4. Usually, when I hit the rack, I roll her next to me, or almost on top of me. Under the blanket. And normally it doesn’t take all that long for her to get warm enough, and me to get ……….uh……ya know…….and it’s off to the races!
Now this isn’t a like EVERY NIGHT thing, ya understand………..I am after all an old guy, and pretty beat up too!

Anyway, it works for me.

Happy Dolling!

Thank you for your insights, @kfiaoni

Did some searching. https://rosemarydoll.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/26069110551703-Which-is-the-better-choice-for-heating-up-your-doll-body-heating-option-or-a-good-electric-blanket

a good electric blanket can warm up your doll faster and is easy to adjust, but you’ll need to position it carefully to make sure the heat is evenly distributed.

https://support.erovenus.com/hc/en-us/articles/33941647184027-Can-silicone-dolls-be-safely-heated-using-an-electric-blanket

Yes, but avoid direct contact with the heat source. This will safely heat the material without causing damage. A comfortable temperature close to human body temperature will do.

I think that an electric blanket is the way to go. I’m not trying to boil anyone here, just want to take the big chill away. Well insulated with a sheet and stuff this should be perfect.

I wish you luck @quillurion ! As I said, I have read many success stories using an e blanket, but at the same time, I have also read of some pretty bad results too. I’m a pretty ballsy guy, but when it comes to possibly melting my gals………..nope……..I just won’t stick my toes in that piranha pond and take that chance! Damage like that ain’t easily fixed.

Have a good one, and Happy Dolling!

I have two cats who love to lay on my girls when the dolls are placed under the covers.
You can borrow them anytime. :winking_face_with_tongue:

But seriously.

I would be curious to hear how an electric blanket works for you, if you choose that option.
For us, it is chilly in the trailer for a couple of months each year, so options would be great.

Currently, April-May has a nice fleece onesie which she wears to bed on the chilly nights.
Of course it has been altered to include a ‘fanny flap’ for convenience.

Looking forward to hearing about your experience.

I’ll keep you posted.

My dolls always wear some clothes. Either a thin catsuit/overall or (satin) pyjamas.
And I have my sleeping room heated at 20°C. No need for a heating blanked.

That warm? Indeed, then there’s no need. My bedroom at the moment is around 14C I think.

It’s currently 0 C where I live. Currently I have one room in the house heated to between 18 and 20 C, the rest of the house is much less but above 5C (frost prevention). And I basically live in one room, which is currently: me, a desk, a chair, a double-bed and a couple of TPE ladies, and not much else.

The TPE ladies have nice soft plush towels on top and beneath them, so they always feel warm to the touch (a bit like a plushie.)

One thing I’ve noticed is that TPE dolls are much better at absorbing warmth than silicone. If I cuddle a TPE doll, my body heat transfers to her in no time at all, so she starts to feel alive. Silicone dolls take longer to warm up. And google agrees with me:

I’ve run into the same problem during the colder months, and after trying a few things I eventually found a solution that works great for my silicone girls.

I installed an infrared heating panel above my bed. About 20 minutes before I turn in, I switch it on and pull the blankets off my doll so the infrared heat can warm her directly. By the time I’m ready to go to bed, she feels pleasantly warm. Then I switch the panel off and cover her again.

What really surprised me is that once she’s warmed up and tucked back under the blankets, she actually stays reasonably warm for quite a while — which is nice, considering silicone normally loses heat quickly. without the blankets she cools down very fast.

I should add that I only have experience with silicone dolls. I don’t know how TPE reacts to infrared heating, so I can’t say for sure whether it’s safe for TPE dolls.

I’ve successfully used an electric blanket to warm my TPE doll for about 8+ years. Some options I suggest are dual thermostat controls, one for each side. An auto turn-off feature after so many hours on. For nightly warming up, I’ll turn on the electric blanket around 2+ hours before bed, with the thermostat set at its lowest number. As to layering, the electric blanket goes on top. Underneath is the soft bedsheet. Next, is where my doll lays (and myself). And underneath the doll is the mattress sheet. The system works great for me.

Generally, I like to be cool when I sleep, but yeah, TPE is forkin’ icy. For me, (well, for Kimberly anyway) long sleeve top and sweat pants. Not the sexiest attire, but she takes a few minutes to get set up anyway, so the extra couple minutes to get the pants off isn’t that big of a deal.

Thank you, that’s very helpful!

I’ve ordered an electric blanket, it seems the logical choice.

With the lights off, sexy goes into the dark so I wouldn’t see a problem there.

I have IR panels through the living room and 1 in the bathroom. My girls sat under one of them on the couch, and no harm was done, so TPE is safe. Not too hot, not too long, because those panels heat things up rapidly.

My girls stay warm surprisingly long too, at least 3 hours I noticed.

0C here too, although today we get a heatwave up to 2C today. :scream:

Thank you for that overview, definitely informative!! I’m not planning to heat up the bed to 40C or more. Oh no, I don’t want to cook myself (nor them). 22C to 25C and we’re golden, i’m sure. Thank you for the information and the nice shot of furry bunny!

First evening with the electric blanket.

It has lots of settings: low, and 2-9. I set it to 2 and left it there for half an hour (by which time I went to bed). After 15 minutes I did a safety check, nothing wrong. Blanket was not really ‘warm’ but good enough not to be worried.

As I went to bed, I switched it off (the timer would do that after 2 hours anyway but the bed was fine).

My girls were not that cold any more. The bite was off, which is good, but a bit warmer wouldn’t hurt. Tonight I’ll try setting 3. Also: I don’t have a proper sheet yet that’s large enough for the bed so I used the ‘travel blanket’ that Roisin was sent in, to use between the girls and the electric blanket. It’s giganormous, but thicker than a sheet, which might be the reason they were still a bit chilly. When the actual sheet arrives I’ll start with setting 2 again.

All in all a good experience already.

Day 2. Blanket set to 3.

edit: 15 minute check. This feels like the way to go with the thick blanket cover.

One thing I’ll say about those electric blankets though, I worked with a guy some years back who had a house fire possibly on account of one (possibly defective or otherwise broken element or something). I generally make it a point to keep them unplugged when not in use. Stay safe everybody.
