What, if any, are you using for your dolls' foot protection?

I got special socks with anti-slipping knobs at the bottom, but they’re wearing out very fast. Also got special tpe-like socks for them: ditto.

I have a wooden floor in the house, which probably isn’t great for them to stand on, so therefore this question. Me be the curious one…

My girls mostly stand in socks and sneakers but they are all silicone with harder feet. No screws protruding or scratching. And a lot of care when posing them.
Never used those TPE / Silicone whatever socks. Would be too afraid for chemical reactions between materials.

Thank you. I must look into footwear too. Just need a way to figure out the right size.

I have silicone dolls with hard feet, no bolts. This is what all of my girls use.

Fantastic, thank you. My dolls are all TPE with bolted feet, so I really want to fix this.

I don’t think I understand the problem you are having. Can you explain it differently?

Let’s do it this way.

My dolls can stand, that’s perfect, they’re equipped with ‘standing skeletons’. At the bottom of their feet are 3 distinct metal bits I can see. The one at the heel carries most of the weight.

Because of the wooden floor they don’t stand very stable so I got them TPE “socks”, but the heel bolt pierces through that already, after a week:

As you can see at the bottom.

I also got them real anti-slip socks which work great, but the bolt also punctures through that:

Here you see the anti-slip bits and the hole at the bottom. I don’t want their feet to get damaged, but I also don’t want the metal bolts damaging the floor (that was pretty expensive), so I am looking for something to protect both. Socks with a proper sole or shoes or… something.

@poppy70 already mentioned shoes, which is a good thing (I need to find the right size). Hilda definitely needs black shoes as she’ll be standing most of the time. Isabella and Roisin will be in and out of bed a lot so I’m hoping to find something to put on easily.

I hope this makes it a bit clearer, and thank you for asking.

I got this rug for my carbon steel doll stand. I got it so the stand didn’t damage the floor at the doll meet. If you look in the second photo, the doll in front all the way to the left is on my carbon steel doll stand on the rug I bought.

Much obliged, thank you so much!

That’s perfect! I ordered a stand from Coeros (probably spelling it wrong) and that kind of rug is exactly the solution. Thank you much, also for sharing the photo of your doll. She looks very well taken care of.

We all know how much our girls mean to us and we understand how much other dolls mean to their owners. Our companion dolls are like family, girlfriends, wives, children or friends. I’m new to the doll life as well. I’ve been in this life for three years.

Three years! That makes you a pro in my eyes. Isabella came here a mere 6 months ago.

I’m still a novice. There are guys that have been living this life for a decade or more.

I replace the screws with different ones that distribute the weight a little over a larger area. It isn’t perfect but helps a bit.

In Germany they are called “Schlossschraube” which translates to “carriage bolt”.

Original screw on the right, replaced screw on the left.

Oh, that’s a great trick. Every little bit helps. Danke schön, I’ll figure out how those are called in Dutch.
