Well folks, it’s finally over. Shooting of the DISCONNECTED story has finally wrapped! I ended up with 132 GB of data, 4433 files, organized in 107 folders. Wow! That’s about 19% of the total files in my doll folder and 23% of the total data (photo sizes on my first camera were smaller than now which causes that difference). In one project. Done in 2.5 months (folder and outline document created 08/20/25, shooting finished last weekend and final choosing of photos completed last night, 11/04/25).
Side note, at about that time is when I went on ADHD meds for the first time. I think they work.
Of course, the efforts continue. I still have to edit the photos (I’m only 3 parts ahead at the moment) and format the writing (I do this nightly when I post, adding the text color and such as I do).
Oh, and the Epilogue isn’t done. It’s mostly written at this point but I’m waiting and putting some more thought into it. It’s going to tie up some loose ends as well as set the stage for some other stories I’ll be exploring in the future. I plan to leave that to the end of the month because hey, there’s still another 42 parts to post before I need to have that ready!
You know what? Let’s put the call out to you guys. Aside from Seraphina, who’s story would you be most interested in seeing more of in the future currently? This could be learning more about their backstory or advancing the story they already have going on. I make no guarantees but I might be able to put priority on certain things. Ultimately, if I can do it and be having fun then there’s a good chance I can accommodate!

She is! I’m glad I finally got to introduce her. She’s been loitering around for months ready to go and I almost ran out of summer to go shoot her photos in! You’ll see more of her and learn more about her during this story arc. I do want to get her back to the Badlands for another shoot next summer. I don’t know what yet, I just know that I had a lot of fun on the last shoot.

100%! I actually entered that photo in an offsite contest which follows similar rules as the ones here so I couldn’t edit the photo in any major way. There’s some color and light adjustments to the photo but no light or shadow was edited in or out to make this. It definitely took some fiddling to make it work, but work it did!

I haven’t had much opportunity to document it, but Arachne and Seraphina have been getting along well since we last checked in on them.
I did have a little surprise for Seraphina the other day…
Her SEDOLL necklace arrived! I was surprised when there wasn’t one with her when she arrived.
It’s some nice little bling for her! And oh, I love taking closeup photos of her. It’s so hard to capture her freckles well and I love them so much!
I got a care package from SEDoll. I was expecting a wig, they also sent an extra one. The necklace, of course, and I’d requested some glue to fix up a couple imperfections. Nothing major, but I’m glad I was able to fix them now before they potentially became bigger problems in the future. Thank you, SEDoll!
On Monday she got another surprise, a much larger box!
Shein has been taking my money again… Seraphina now has a few more outfits, including what will likely be her first story outfit! I don’t have anything written yet but I hope it may start early in the new year (the current DISCONNECTED story will take us into mid December and I don’t think I’ll be doing any major story stuff through the holidays).
While we’re building some hype for things to come, how about a sneak peak of something else in the pipeline? Queen Ariana has been around for some time, I think her first photo was either at Arachne’s second birthday or perhaps shortly before. At the party she was dressed in the most basic iteration of her outfit, a rectangle with a hole to poke her head through. This material is a pain to work with, but the end result is getting very good. I still have a long way to go before she’s finished but she’ll probably be joining the story some time in the new year as well.

I’ve been working on improving the visibility of Seraphina’s lovely freckles in photos which of course requires them to be visible. She was a little reluctant at first but warmed up to the idea. I’m pretty pleased with the results!
Her and I have spent some time working on outfits in preparation for her introduction into the story. Let me tell you, she’s going to look amazing. I have some photos of her that are absolutely stunning and I can’t share them because of massive spoilers! Let me say this, the elf standing in my livingroom right now is so hot I was able to turn off my furnace. It’s highly motivating to work on her story so I can share more photos of her with all of you!

There was a brief time in the weeks after I got Seraphina that I questioned whether or not getting her was a good idea. Not because of any fault, flaw, or regret at spending the money. Sort of a questioning of myself and whether or not I actually needed a second doll. I don’t know what brought that feeling on, but I’ve definitely moved past it. I think Seraphina is starting to find her place a little better in my life now and I’m really starting to see advantages to another lovely elf in my house.
For the past few weeks she has primarily taken up residence in my livingroom on her stand. This is the third consecutive weekend that she’d gotten an outfit change. In that time, Arachne has received none. She’s been primarily laying in bed so we can cuddle up every night, as we’ve done nearly every night since she joined me.
I enjoy dressing up women in nice outfits and have explored that even before dolls through gaming. But, it’s labour intensive and there’s some “restrictions” on what I can put on Arachne for bed. (Direct skin to silicone contact isn’t comfortable for prolongued periods, for example) So, getting Arachne out of bed, changing her outfit, only to potentially needing a change back into something else for bed is a lot of work (and yet, I did it daily for a few weeks when she first arrived. I changed her into PJs every night. It didn’t last!). Oddly enough, I don’t seem to mind doing this when an outfit change is needed for a photo shoot. Photos seem to allow me to justify the effort, but for no reason other than my own enjoyment? Not a chance! I don’t understand my brain. 
Anyways, Arachne is currently dressed in this supper soft dress that is amazing to snuggle with. I love it so much, and it’s bodycon even on her lithe form. Why would I want to change it? Seraphina has been scratching that itch. The previous two outfits have been spoilers for her intro, so no photos of those despite a desire to share them. Once the outfits have debuted in character I might share the photos I did take. She’s been standing in these lovely outfits in my livingroom and she makes me smile every time I walk past which is multiple times a day. She’s already on the stand so while it is still time consuming to change her outfit I can avoid the hardest step which is also nice!
This week she’s a lovely forest elf exploring the forest. Her inquisitive eyes have spotted something of interest! I wonder what it is?
I think this might go on for at least a while longer. Next weekend she’ll be getting changed for a photo contest entry and I have two other outfits waiting on the couch for her.
I’m thinking about making a thread for her for posts like this, I think the only thing stopping me is coming up with a good title for it. lol. When I do I will of course let you all know. It will be a thread just for her and be much like this Domesticated thread. Anything involving her and Arachne will be posted in either this thread or the story thread.
Writing this has made me think. Arachne has so many outfits. Because of the reasons above she rarely wears a lot of it, or does so only briefly for a photo and then takes it off. Now that I have another potential snuggle buddy, should Arachne be the one on the stand getting outfit changes regularly while Seraphina gets a turn sleeping in the bed? It feels scandelous to type that. lol. I mean, when I did breast surgery on her awhile ago I literally drug my recliner into the kitchen so I could sleep next to her while she rested ad healed on the kitchen table. In the 2.75 years she’s been here there have been a few nights we haven’t shared a bed because of things like that, but I don’t honestly know if there’s been a night we haven’t shared a room together. Going to a concert together, road tripping and sleeping in the car together, bringing her to my sister’s place out of town… She’s been my emotional support elf! 
Honestly, I could have her in the bedroom to keep the “sharing the same room every night” streak going but that might make things stranger, knowing she’s watching us with her Darkvision.

A photo from the weekend. What started as just a casual and comfy outfit started to inspire me and become “low level Arachne”! Sensing danger ahead, the young drow cautiously approaches, her only magic item at the ready. If that isn’t enough to take care of the threat she’ll have to draw her dagger and hope for the best; her cloth armor won’t help her out much! At least she’s got her trusty companion Rhyl at her side!

Here’s how Seraphina’s looking this week. Her top is another thrift store find that I picked up because of the zipper front and how easy it would be to put it on. I regretted it immediately and Arachne never wore it. I’ve been meaning to throw it out after salvaging the zipper for a very long time and never did. Luckily, because it looks great on Seraphina! There’s a zipper at the top and bottom so there’s some fun to be had with it. I’m not sure if it’s a little on the cold side for her in the bedroom or she’s just feeling a little shy this evening. No matter, she’s looking hella cute too!
